The Philippine client is located in the southern part of Luzon Island and is a medium-sized comprehensive agricultural enterprise. Previously, it mainly engaged in the cultivation of tilapia and milkfish in open-air fish ponds, with small areas of open-air vegetable fields planted with leafy vegetables to supply the local wholesale market. The client has built up local connections within the Philippine agricultural sector, yet constrained by conventional farming models, it has long been confronted with three challenges:
First, the country experiences an extended typhoon season with frequent heavy rainstorms. Dissolved oxygen and water temperature in open fishponds fluctuate drastically.Prolonged heavy rainfall will trigger sharp rises in fish mortality.
Secondly, open-air vegetable fields are also subject to weather conditions, with severe leaf vegetable diseases during the rainy season and high irrigation costs during the dry season;
Third, under the conventional separated production model — fish culture and vegetable cultivation operated independently — output value per unit area has hit a bottleneck.
The client urgently requires an integrated cultivation model to break free from climate limitations.
The client learned about the commercial potential of modern greenhouses integrated with aquaponics systems from a technical consultant of the Philippine Department of Agriculture and subsequently contacted us via online channels. Following several rounds of in-depth video discussions, the client decided to adopt a comprehensive solution for a multi-span PC sheet greenhouse equipped with an internal aquaponics system, aiming to become a benchmark enterprise pioneering commercial aquaponics in the Philippines.

Project Requirements and Challenges
Before the project was launched, we had multiple rounds of communication with the client and identified three core challenges:
● Installation Standards for Multi-span PC Sheet Greenhouse and Aquaponics System Under Hot & Humid Climate Conditions
The Philippines features a tropical monsoon climate with high temperature and humidity all year round and heavy rainfall during typhoon seasons. The actual operating environment of multi-span PC sheet greenhouses on Luzon Island varies greatly from that in temperate zones. The roof PC sheets need to withstand the instantaneous impact of heavy rainstorms as well as the accelerated aging of sealing strips under persistent high humidity. The fish tank area in the basement needs extra anti-seepage treatment and ventilation design to avoid long-term corrosion of structural parts under high humidity. The drainage pipelines of tidal seedbeds in the planting zone intersect with the recirculating pipelines of fish tanks; minor errors during installation may trigger water backflow or pipe blockage. The client’s local construction team only has experience building simple steel-frame sheds and lacks relevant experience constructing this composite facility integrating aquaculture and plant cultivation.
● Data Anomalies Occurred in the Weather Monitoring System After Installation
Just one week after greenhouse handover, the client reported frequent abnormal fluctuations in real-time data from the automatic weather station: occasional zero-value readings from wind speed sensors, false trigger readings from rain gauges even on sunny days, and outdoor temperature & humidity probes showing fluctuations well outside the normal range at noon. The client was greatly concerned, as the core control logic of the aquaponics system depends heavily on real-time meteorological data to automatically adjust greenhouse ventilation strategies and fish tank aeration rates. Once data distortion occurs, the whole automatic control system will execute incorrect commands based on faulty information. For instance, the system may fail to pre-close the vents as a typhoon draws near due to abnormal wind speed data.
● The Client's Long-term Goal: To Become a Pioneer in the Philippine Aquaponics Market
Throughout all communication sessions, the client repeatedly stated his aspiration: he not only intended to construct and run a greenhouse independently, but also planned to take this project as a demonstration model to secure local dealership rights for our brand in the Philippines, and promote the PC Sheet aquaponics greenhouse solution across other Philippine provinces. Accordingly, the project was required to be more than just an adequate handover; it needed to serve as a benchmark facility suitable for peer site visits and technical demonstrations.
Our Solution
In response to all requirements put forward by the client, we delivered an integrated solution covering three dimensions: installation execution, system troubleshooting and long-term cooperation.
● Deploy Professional Installation Team for Cross-border On-site Work & Take Full Charge of Construction
As the local construction team lacked experience building this type of composite greenhouse, we made a firm decision not to depend on local subcontractors. We directly dispatched a professional team with experience in over five international projects from China to the Philippines. Prior to departure, the team completed pre-cutting, pre-numbering and trial assembly of all PC sheets domestically, eliminating potential dimensional tolerance deviations at the factory stage. Upon arrival at the site, all work followed standardized construction procedures: foundation anchoring, main frame hoisting, PC sheet installation, sealing strip pressing, anti-seepage layer construction for fish tank zones, and layered layout of tidal seedbed pipelines and recirculating water pipelines. Every pipeline passed independent water pressure testing before connection. Although the construction schedule was tight, all procedures were implemented sequentially without skipped steps. The full turnkey delivery from bare ground to finished facility was accomplished within one month.
● Dual-track Troubleshooting of Weather Monitoring System Faults: Remote Support + On-site Inspection
Upon receiving feedback from the client, we took two immediate actions. First, our engineers remotely logged into the back-end of the data acquisition terminal in China and traced the raw second-level data packets recorded during anomalies. We confirmed that the wind speed sensor was not generating random zero-value readings; instead, it suffered periodic signal outages roughly every 40 minutes before recovery. This proved the fault lay within the signal transmission path, not the sensor hardware. Second, we notified the on-site installation team in the Philippines to carry spare cables and signal amplifiers to conduct an inspection at the greenhouse. Technicians traced each segment of the meteorological station signal wiring and finally identified damage on the roof sensor bus: a bird had pecked through the outer cable sheath, exposing part of the copper core. High-temperature thermal expansion caused intermittent signal cutouts. The team replaced the damaged cable segment and fitted a metal flexible conduit for protection. The fault was fixed on site, and data returned to normal within 10 minutes. The whole troubleshooting process, from receiving the client's report to full fault resolution, took less than three days.
● Leverage the Project as a Philippine Demonstration Model to Support the Client in Securing Exclusive Dealership Rights
From day one of receiving the installation assignment, we managed every detail under demonstration-project standards. Upon completion of the greenhouse, we organized a formal handover ceremony. The client invited several local officials from the Department of Agriculture and neighboring growers for an on-site tour. Our project manager delivered a full English demonstration of system operation, covering meteorological station data acquisition, automatic ventilation logic, automated dissolved oxygen control for fish tanks, timed cycles for tidal irrigation, real-time data display on mobile remote monitoring terminals, and comparative analysis of historical records. Following the demonstration, multiple growers on-site consulted the client regarding system procurement procedures and pricing. This event directly boosted the client's reputation within the local agricultural circle and generated a list of prospective clients. At the event, the client reaffirmed their intention to act as our exclusive distributor for the Philippines.
Service Process
The whole project ran from initial contact to final handover. Despite the tight timeline, no working procedures were omitted.
▶ Phase 1: Rapid Demand Docking & Customized Solution Formulation (Two Weeks Prior to Deal Conclusion)
The client provided a detailed requirement list during initial communication, covering target fish species (mainly tilapia), planned stocking density, local annual average temperature and typhoon frequency data. We customized a tailored solution based on these requirements: a PC Sheet roof system to withstand typhoon impacts. PC Sheet features impact resistance over 200 times higher than ordinary glass, making it a safer alternative for typhoon-prone regions in the Philippines. The design includes independent ventilation for the fish tank zone to avoid moisture accumulation, as well as four separate tidal seedbed units matched with four recirculating water pipelines in the planting area to reduce single-point failure risks. The client barely put forward any revisions to the proposal, and the contract was signed within two weeks.
▶ Phase 2: Domestic & Overseas Coordination, Seamless Installation Implementation (Mar. – Apr.)
Upon confirmation of construction drawings, the factory launched production immediately. Meanwhile, the installation team processed visa applications and goods shipment formalities. All steel structural components and PC Sheets were prefabricated and pre-numbered at the factory. Packaged cargo arrived in the Philippines almost simultaneously with the installation crew. On the day the team landed, the containers had completed customs clearance and been delivered to the construction site. The team started construction the next day without rest. Every working procedure, from foundation anchoring and frame assembly, PC Sheet sealing installation to fish tank recirculating pipeline laying, had been rehearsed prior to departure to enable standardized on-site operation.
▶ Phase 3: Delivery Demonstration & Securing Exclusive Distributor Intent (On the Handover Day and Afterwards)
The day before formal handover, our project manager guided the client's technical staff through the full daily operating workflow of the system. On the handover date, we partnered with the client to host a small on-site promotion event. Multiple local agricultural officials and neighboring growers invited by the client toured the greenhouse and observed its full operational status. The project manager elaborated on-site on the core technical logic of the aquaponics system and demonstrated real-time remote monitoring via mobile terminals. Following the event, the client formally confirmed to us that he was ready to act as our exclusive distributor for the Philippine market, with authorized coverage across the whole of Luzon Island.
Client Feedback
One month after handover, we conducted a follow-up video call with the client. The first batch of tilapia inside the greenhouse had entered a rapid growth phase. Lettuce and water spinach cultivated on tidal seedbeds had completed their first harvest; both crop quality and growth speed surpassed the client's expectations.
